Murals
Quinton Elementary School, VA
Local landmarks and wildlife span two double-height walls in this new elementary school. Designed digitally and printed on vinyl, I worked with Richmond-based Moseley Architects to create this major artwork which was unveiled in 2023.︎ ︎ ︎
500 Broadway, Seattle

Wildflowers of Elliott Bay
I was commissioned by the non-profit Downtown Seattle Association to make some artwork to brighten up the neighborhood. The direction was bright colors + lots of plants, so I made a bunch of drawings from observation along the nearby Elliott Bay waterfront trail. then I took them to my studio to scan, compile, and color them digitally. It was printed on vinyl and installed on a vacant storefront.︎ ︎ ︎
Dandelions on Mt. Rainier
Created for Hill House Mural, a rotating art wall. Muralists were commissioned to create an image on the 15’ wide detached garage wall in Capitol Hill, Seattle; each one lasted for three months before being covered by the next artists’ work. The endeavor ended in 2021.This was made during the early COVID lockdowns in May 2020. I wanted to transport Seattlites to a calming place, like the wildflower fields in the nearby Cascade mountains.

Sunset on Lake Washington
A 12’ x 10’ acrylic painting commissioned as an anchor artwork for the QFC supermarket in Kirkland, WA.The composition is a blend of a few different views from this part of Lake Washington, highlighting the beautiful local scenery: towering coniferous trees, layers of distant hills & the Cascade mountains, Seattle skyline, Mt. Rainier, stunning sunsets.

W&OD Trail: Highway of Community — Vienna, VA
3500 square foot mural painted in Vienna, VA (my hometown!) in November 2018, with Emily Herr, 3 assistants, and local volunteers. It is a landscape of historical points of interest in the town, connected by the Washington & Old Dominion cycling/running trail.Thanks to Rappaport & the Vienna Public Arts Commission for coordinating.

Spirits of the Piedmont — Charlottesville, VA
A football field-length mural in Charlottesville, VA, depicting the rolling mountains in the local landscape with life-sized figures based on students of Albemarle High School, which is just down the road.Painted June 2018 in collaboration with Emily Herr and assisted by local volunteers.

Illustrations for a feature story for Lion’s Roar magazine. Writer Pico Iyer takes us into his past, to the 1980s when he and a friend visited Kathmandu’s royal astrologer and received some surprising readings.
